ICU Registrar - CICM accredited
ICU registrars required for multiple opportunities in Townsville Queensland. The department is a CICM accredited training dept, so CICM trainees or those looking to get onto the training program are welcome.
This 10 bed ICU department is staffed with FCICM and dual trained FANZCAs. There are a number of Registrars that will support the department throughout a 24 hour rotation. Day shifts are 11 hours, night shifts are 14.
The Hospital complex is an acute Medical/Surgical facility with a present bed capacity of 167. Speciality areas include Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Urology, Neurology, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Paediatrics, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Surgery, Coronary Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Endoscopy, Urodynamics, Sleep Disorders and Traumatic Recovery Centre, Allied Health Services, Rehabilitation Unit and an Emergency Department
This position would suit an anaesthetics/ICU or ED trained registrar looking for a well supported experience in a friendly patient focused ICU. Required skills:
- Three (3) years post graduate experience; including three (3) months preferably (6) months in anaesthesia; in addition, at least six (6) months experience in ICU and/or ED.
- To be skilled in airway management including bag/valve/mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and LMA placement.
- Demonstrated skill in the placement of arterial lines and central venous catheters
- Must hold current ACLS and PALS certification
Preference will be given to those doctors currently holding AHPRA Registration.
