About the Position:
The hospital is a Level III FCICM C6 accredited training hospital with an active FCICM teaching and research program. You will be working in a busy unit as part of a highly effective team supported by Senior Intensivists (FCICM and FANZCA) and experienced ICU nurses.
Your main duties will be undertaking the care of patients in the ICU and HDU unit by attending to all cardiac arrests throughout the hospital. You will be responsible for managing and resuscitating patients whose conditions deteriorate in all area of ICU/HDU/CCU where a specialist is not immediately available. You will communicate effectively with all relevant staff for the care of patients, offering support and care to patients and their families. As a professional you will be continually updating and extending personal medical knowledge and skills.
About the Hospital:
The hospital is a brand new, 344 bed, state of the art facility. It was opened in January 2020 and boasts the states only privately owned 24 hour ED. The ICU is a fully equipped 14 bed, Level three Intensive Care Unit providing support to all areas of the hospital with specialised nursing staff and Intensivists caring for patients undergoing complex major surgery including:
- Coronary care
- Gastro Intestinal Care
- High Dependency
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopaedic Care
- Vascular Care
The hospital is situated in a lovely capital city situated on the South of Australia with a population of approximately 1.3 million. The hospital is situated on the outskirts of the CBD with ample access to a wide range of cafes, shops and restaurants. The city offers an excellent affordable lifestyle with a wide range of public and private schooling, Universities and recreational activities.
Requirements:
- Must have 6 months Anaesthesia and 6 months Intensive Care
- Minimum 3 years post- graduation
- Current Registration with AHPRA preferred or If an IMG must have comparable healthcare experience; UK, Ireland, South Africa, NZ, US or Canada
